Praying for you today as you disciple your children! As you walk through how to become a disciple it is critical you remember, you can’t “save” your child, as a matter of fact you can’t “save” anyone! Jesus is the only one who can do that job, He is the King!! Our job is just to share the Good News and disciple those God has given us, including our kids!
Today walk through how to become a disciple, remember no pressure just sharing! When the time is right, they will begin their own faith journey with Jesus.
(1) To get prepared for the Kingdom Jesus said we must repent (see day 3.) Repent means turn away from our current thinking and living (self and other things filling our thoughts and actions) BUT it also means to turn toward Jesus and His way of living (the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22,) loving God and loving others. Take a few minutes to list behaviors/actions/thoughts that do not show the fruits of the Spirit.
(2) The churchy word for these behaviors/actions/thoughts is “sin.” Research what “sin” is and how it is used in the Bible.
Today’s lesson is heavy especially for young kids. Let’s admit it we didn’t have to teach them to “sin” it has been part of our way of life since we can remember (birth.)
If you want to disciple well you are going to have to be real and share your “sins” with them and how they impacted your life, how you had to seek forgiveness from God and others. Your kids need to respect and love you but they also need to know you are a created being with a loving Heavenly Father....just like them!
Homeschool well today, praying for those families in state’s that have agreed to close for the remainder of the school year. Praying for kids whose parents don’t know Jesus and that during this time the Church can come along side those searching for Hope and show them Jesus....maybe you can find a way to help disciple them and their kids from a safe distant. If you are not a believer or you are a disciple of Jesus and you need someone praying for you email me at equippingtomorrow@icloud.com and I’ll be here to walk with you through this unique opportunity we have been given!
