I am rejoicing in the journey of being a disciple of Jesus! Celebrating every day the life I have been given through His perfect life, death, resurrection, and one day His return!

All the Marbles” post from Days 1-22 have been laying a foundation. Answering the questions: why should we disciple our children? And what does it mean to make disciples? Along with reminders that we are not alone in the journey, nor should we give the opportunity of the journey to someone else. We should partner with a local Church. Partner, not relinquish all spiritual teachings to others and be a spectator, a consumer—it’s our job as parents, as ill-equipped as we may feel. Trust me, if left to our own devices, we would fail, BUT as believers, we are on this journey together with His strength and guidance!

Today let’s talk to our children about why we study the Bible.

(1) Review Jesus’s command in the biography that Matthew wrote about his time with Jesus in Matthew 28:20. What does teaching mean?

(2) How did the earliest disciples know about Jesus's teachings? They got to walk and talk with Him!

(3) How are we going to teach His commands, if we didn’t get a chance to walk and talk with Him physically? God gave us Jesus’s words and first-hand accounts from His followers, and they have been collected and put in what we call today—“The Bible.”

There is a lot that rests on knowing what ”The Bible” is and how it came to be the bound book that we have. As we journey together as disciple-makers, we need to make sure our children know it is more than a book; it is more than unusual stories gathered in one place.

A foundation is built by explaining and added onto by reexplaining. But, if you never build the foundation because you think it is to “difficult for a child to grasp,” all that you are building on will tumble when they are challenged.

On your discipling journey, build wisely, counting on the Father to lead the foundation building, using the tools He has given us!

I am praying for you and your family, and this journey together!
