All the Marbles Day 14

Do you think teaching is hard work? As you disciple your children, you have a choice; you can think of it as a “job,” or you can think of it as a journey together.

When one day slips away without a moment of spoken words of discipleship, your actions will be lighting the way. Don’t let your actions be your only vise, intentionally use your words. Your kids are soaking in so much from the day they are born! Be intentional! See each day as a new opportunity to share why you are a disciple of Jesus, what you believe, and in whom you place your trust. As @Simon Sinek made popular, “start with the WHY,” if you know the “why” for discipling your children, you will understand the opportunity it brings. Be intentional! Don’t waste this opportunity!

(1) As Christians, we are to partner together with other families who have faith in Jesus, the Church and encourage and challenge them. Which families should we encourage today? How can we encourage them? How can we challenge them? Now DO IT don’t just talk about it!!

(2) Pray for the families you are going to encourage and challenge.

(3) Discuss “why” we want to encourage and challenge others. The right motives are essential! God cares more about our hearts then the external activities we do. It is not “religious activities” He desires it's our heart! Read what Jesus says in Matthew's eyewitness, a point of Jesus' life: Matthew 15:8-9. And, what the prophet Isaiah wrote in 1 Samuel 16:7. Our motivation needs to be focused on showing others Jesus NOT on ourselves.

(3) Commit as a family to begin the journey of discipling in your own home! Knowing it is a lifelong journey worth the investment!
